Read Energy Transfer:
1.Endothermic reactions absorb energy from their surroundings, typically in the form of heat. Energy is greater in the chemical reaction system than in its surroundings, this leads to a decrease in the temperature of the surroundings. Another way of saying this is if the products have more energy than the reactants then the reaction is endothermic.
2.Exothermic reactions release energy to their surroundings, usually as heat. Energy is less than in the chemical reaction system than in its surroundings, this leads to a increase in the temperature of the surroundings.
